Does God love us?
When you think about God, what comes to mind first? Is it hope, fear, mystery... what about love? Do you think of our God as a God of love? 1 John 4:7-8 tells us that love itself is from God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. It also says that “God Is Love.” So, if God is love and everyone that is of God (Born again believers) is born of love, than we should show our #love of God in our daily lives, by worshiping Him and showing love to others.

“Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.””
How do we know?
#God showed us His love by sending His only Son to die for the penalty of our sins. The debt we owe to Him has already been paid and is given to us freely through His grace and mercy. (John 3:16 NKJV)(Romans 5:8 NKJV)
Believing in God’s love and accepting the sacrifice He made for us on the cross is a choice. It’s called faith and we all need it. God created the world and all its inhabitants. Our purpose is to worship Him and fellowship with Him. Those who are not #fellowshipping with God, will feel that something is missing in their life because they are not following their Designer’s purpose.
How can I show Love to God?

Share His Word
Love our neighbors
We show love to God by following His commandments. Mark 12:31 says to love your neighbor as yourself. This means we are to show the love God has shown us to others (not just our next door neighbors but to ALL others). Love others the way God loves you, unconditionally. That doesn’t mean you have to put yourself in harms way or allow others to abuse you. It is possible to show love from a distance. Showing love can also mean having compassion or bestowing #forgiveness on someone who wronged you. There have been many in my life who hurt or disappointed me. I can still show them love by forgiving them and praying for them. Holding on to bitterness and grudges will only keep me from sharing love with others.
Where is the proof?
The proof of God’s love is in the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. God himself came down as a man and died for our sins to pay a price we could never pay ourselves. This is a love we cannot measure and cannot match.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Here are a few more verses that demonstrate God’s love for us. If you are struggling with recognizing God’s love for you, I encourage you to print them out and place them where you will see them daily.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”

Crafty time
To help remember Gods unfailing live for us, we are making a paper box of chocolates (sorry, they aren’t edible, but this is the food for the soul that we need daily) each “chocolate” has a verse that shows us God’s love for us. So, when you need a reminder, grab a chocolate and look up that verse. This craft will take us some time so today we are only making the box and a few chocolates.
