“How the world will be deceived.”
The second beast…
We may hear the word deception and think of a movie title or book, but this part of scripture is talking of a mass deception. A hoax. A grand lie that that will convince the world that they have found a new savior.With the technology and advancements in science in place today, the world is capable of falling for a mass deception with little effort. We may, each of us, this we are strong minded and capable of decreeing a lie but remember, the devil has been around a lot longer and he has been preparing for this moment in history.

Read along with me in Revelation 13:11-18
“Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.”
As we enter verse eleven, a second beast appears with horns like a lamb and speaking like a dragon. This second beast represents the new religion that will present itself in a peaceful light but will eventually declare war on those who refuse to worship the first beast in verse one, the antichrist. This new religion may seem as if it is the solution to all strife and war in the world and unite those of different beliefs but it is another deception of satan, well planned and prepared.
“He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.”
As a young believer, raised in a Christian household, I must admit at times I came from a place of arrogance as a result of ignorance in my perception of who Satan is and how much control he has been allowed on this earth. The truth is, believer, that we can be easily swayed by a well-played lie if we are not well versed in the truth. The more I read God’s word and learn about His ways, the more prepared I will be for the carefully planned lies the enemy will tell the world in the coming days.
“He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
Just as we are marled in our hearts, the Lord is going to put a mark the believers to show they belong to Him. Satan , ever the copycat artist, will mimmic this mark and require the world to take on their hand or forehead. I cannot say what type of mark they will receive but with the options available in the world today I can only imagine the possibilities. This mark, will not only identify the anti-christ’s followers but it will also hold the only form of currency accepted by the major governments in power. Those without it will not be permitted to buy or sell.
“Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.”
There have been many movies made about the last days and the ideas men have of what it may look like. Though the details have not been laid out, we have been warned that these days will come and if you are paying attention to the direction the world is taking, they are fast approaching. I urge you, little sparrows, to read your Bible and focus your eyes and your heart on Christ. Let His Holy Spirit guide you away from the deception that is already spreading through ought the world.
